Welcome to the Austin Komei Jyuku dojo

The Austin Komei Jyuku is a traditional budo / Japanese swordsmanship dojo. It is an official branch of the Komei Jyuku which is headed by Sekiguchi Komei sensei and under the guidance of the Texas Komei Jyuku which is headed by Walt Bushey sensei. The Austin Komei Jyuku trains in Yamauchi-Ha Muso Jikiden Eishin-ryu iaijutsu (無雙直傳英信流居合術) and Ryouen-ryu naginatajutsu (菱延流凪刀術).

Classes are held every Thursday at 7:00pm - 8:00pm at the Austin Sports Center (North Austin / Cedar Park). More classes may be announced soon. Feel free to contact Brandon Burkett sensei with any questions you may have or to learn more.

Naginatajutsu and Schedule Update

We will be training in Naginatajutsu for all of August. Be sure to bring your tanto/kowakizashi if you have one. Also note that class on August 19, 2010 will be from 7:30pm to 8:30pm. Training for the rest of August will be at the normal 7:00pm - 8:00pm time slot. Please notify Burkett sensei if you have any questions.
