Welcome to the Austin Komei Jyuku dojo

The Austin Komei Jyuku is a traditional budo / Japanese swordsmanship dojo. It is an official branch of the Komei Jyuku which is headed by Sekiguchi Komei sensei and under the guidance of the Texas Komei Jyuku which is headed by Walt Bushey sensei. The Austin Komei Jyuku trains in Yamauchi-Ha Muso Jikiden Eishin-ryu iaijutsu (無雙直傳英信流居合術) and Ryouen-ryu naginatajutsu (菱延流凪刀術).

Classes are held every Thursday at 7:00pm - 8:00pm at the Austin Sports Center (North Austin / Cedar Park). More classes may be announced soon. Feel free to contact Brandon Burkett sensei with any questions you may have or to learn more.

Austin Martial Arts Festival Canceled

The 2009 Austin Martial Arts Festival has been canceled. We really enjoyed doing an embu at the 2008 festival and will look forward to the return of AMAFest in 2010. You can view more information about AMAFest on their website.
